I felt like the judges were so confusing in their advice tonight (but what's new?). Quit changing up the arrangement! You need to take a risk! Just sing the song. Do something special with the song! Sheesh.
I completely agree about the judges -- one week they say not to take so much liberty with the song, the next week they say the song was changed too much. To the same contestant!
I've liked Andrew Garcia both weeks, but I didn't know the songs he was doing so maybe that would make a difference. I also liked Lee Dwyze, even with his pitch problems -- I'm hoping it's nerves and lack of experience.
Mike Lynch has a nice personality, and that's as far as his voice and performance skills go -- nice, but nothing remotely special.
I find watching Aaron Kelly excruciating; do you suppose he's consciously going for the grandma vote, or does he really thing "My Girl" is a good choice?
Casey James is awful -- I used to think he was just middling, but last night was horrible. You can't do an alt-ish rock anthem if you can't manage to get through a single phrase without running out of breath. And since I don't find him attractive, I'd like to see him go soon.
Jermaine Sellers is weird; he seems to have a nice voice, but you don't bounce around with a big grin during "What's Going On".
Toddrick Hall seems hopeless; the unnecessary runs seem more egregious coming from a guy, from a girl it would just seem par for the course.
Speaking of the girls, I HATE Haeley Vaughn -- like want to choke the life out of her hate. I like Crystal, think Didi and Lilly might be interesting, and mostly don't care about the rest.
