Sorry, Brandon, but I think your loverboy Kris might be going home. But only on account of this not being his, as Pauler would say, JONruh (they should ask her to spell 'genre' some time, just to see what happens). I honestly think that Danny bit it more than Kris did, but there are too many voters out there hoping to be his next dead wife.
What was up with Ryan telling Simon to "put the lighter away" like five times? That was code, right?
I had something funny to say, but I forgot what it was. Stoopid cold medicine.

Personally, I liked Kris's performance. Randy actually touched on the notion that Kris was layering some of his own vibe over the top of the bed-rock the band was providing, which is exactly what I liked. It seemed to have some Prince-ish moments, where a song is rocking out but then has a little bit of jazz or funk laid in there.
ReplyDeleteThat said, he seemed a tad nervous and insecure, which might have been a result of Simon's comment at the end of the duet. Danny probably WAS better than Kris in their duet (much as it pains me to say so), but is that what the duets were supposed to be about -- which one of the duo was better?? Suck it, Simon.
After Simon made that comment, and Ryan was talking with Kris/Gokey, Kris looked really smolderingly mad. It would make sense that he was angry at Simon, but it really looked like he was pissed at Gokey. I wonder if something happened during the song?
Kris does that nervous thing where he curls his lips inside his mouth, and after his performance he looked like he was trying really hard not to (and only partially succeeding). I bet someone told him to stop it.
So, let's say Adam wins. What kind of album does he put out? And who buys it? Just sayin'. With Allison or Kris, we know what we'd be getting -- and I'd buy both of those albums, I think. I wonder what we'd get from Gokey (shudder). Christian light rock? MOR pop? Adult contemporary? I think I saw him doing the Taylor Hicks squat tonight....
